Site Assistant
The School Age Site Assistant is responsible for planning and implementing activities and executing daily lesson plans for the School Age Before and After School sites and Summer Programs. The School Age Site Assistant will work with other site staff to foster children's social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth. S/he must have the ability to travel to travel to more than one site when necessary.

Education / Experience Required:
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in child development or related experience preferred
  • Health form, three letters of reference, pass a criminal background check, and obtain fingerprinting as required by DHS.
Site Assistant

Site Director
The Site Director will be responsible for providing a School Age program that will ensure the participants' safety at all times and foster children's social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth. The Site Director is responsible for planning and implementing all activities and executing daily lesson plans for a School Age Before and After School site while adhering to YMCA program guidelines and DHS standards. The Site Director will supervise site staff and their activities; the Site Director will maintain positive relationships with YMCA staff, school staff, and School Age participants. S/he must have the ability to travel to travel to more than one site when necessary.

Education / Experience Required:
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent and Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA) certificate for completing thirty hours of orientation training, or the equivalent as recognized by the Department and four years of experience in child development or related experience; OR
  • Two years of college (30 hours of which shall be in business or management, child or youth development, early childhood education or related field) and two years of experience in a group setting;
  • OR
  • Four-year degree and one year of full-time (paid or unpaid) experience in a group setting
  • Health form, three letters of reference, pass a criminal background check, and obtain fingerprinting as required by DHS.
Site Assistant

Tutor
The Tutor will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized and group tutoring sessions with children in our program. The Tutor is also responsible for the maintenance of children's records and educational emphasis for each child. This position requires an individual with the ability to relate in a positive manner with children of school age. S/he must possess knowledge and skills to work with children in their specific identified areas of academic weakness. S/he should have effective communication skills to keep parents and Site Director informed of each child's progress.

Education / Experience Required:
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Education, plus:
    Minimum: working towards Tennessee teaching certification Preferred: current Tennessee teaching certification
  • Experience in child development or related experience preferred
